• Ancient Method Premium: This paper is crafted entirely by hand using the traditional single-vat method. It is made from three-year-aged Pteroceltisbark (45%) and premium Shatian rice straw (55%), combined with pure spring water from Xiaoling Mountain. The result is a paper with clear layering and well-defined ink diffusion, making it ideal for all types of Chinese calligraphy and ink painting, including landscapes, flowers, and birds.

• Flower-Bird Premium: Selected from high-quality Pteroceltis (blue sandalwood) bark, this top-grade Xuan paper is meticulously crafted by highly experienced papermakers through 19 traditional processes and over a hundred manual procedures. The materials are carefully chosen, the formula is unique, and the resulting texture is delicate with well-defined ink diffusion. It features excellent ink absorption and rich tonal layering, making it ideal for expressing the nuanced techniques of traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy, such as the “Five Types of Brushwork and Seven Shades of Ink” and “Five Colors and Six Hues”.

🍀 Blue Sandalwood Bark vs. Rice Straw

The higher the content of Pteroceltis or Blue Sandalwood Bark, the easier it is to control the ink bleeding, whereas the higher the content of Rice Straw, the easier the ink spreads. 

🧐 Attention 

• It is completely normal when the paper meets water the surface shrinks a little bit. You can hand mount these papers or iron on low heat to flatten the sheets after the painting is finished 
• Raw paper absorbs ink, the ink lines can be seen immediately from the back side – Great effects, but hard to control for a beginner
