This book is a classic manual of the cursive writing scripts. The original character were taken from Wang Xi Zhi (Jin Dynasty), the “saint” of cursive writing, composed in the Song Dynasty. The version that we see today are all remakes from later periods. This copy comes from the great calligrapher Han Dao Heng of the Ming Dynasty (1613).

Organized in terms of a chant, the sentences rhyme which helps one to remember, and to distinguish the very similar twists and turns in the fluid writing style. However, the cursive scripts are rather advanced writing style, not many Chinese natives could read many of such writings. But if there one book to learn the cursive scripts from, this is the one.
